Let Me Tell You 'bout the Story of the Hurricane

...as Bob Dylan sings. Only the Hurricane I speak of is little Konrad Scott. See, we've known he could walk for a coupla months now. He is just the most obstinate little bugger ever and wouldn't do it. He's been standing on his own since Christmas, he just wouldn't walk. He must get this obstinance from his dad. For those of you that have had the pleasure of spending time with little Rad, you know that he is just about the quickest little crawler that ever was. Part of me thinks that he knows that if he were to change his mode of transportation, it would slow him down a bit. He knows that the fastest way to get somewhere is the bestest way to get somewhere. Again, he must get that from his dad. Ever been biking/driving with Brian? Here is some vid of rad walking. Enjoy.

Spring Break 2009

Happy Spring Break, everybody! I think it's pretty awesome that we are almost 30 and still celebrating Spring Break! And guess what! We have two more to go!!
This year for SB, we went to Fruita, CO. We actually stayed in Grand Junction because the only thing in Fruita is a McDonald's and a Dinosaur Museum. It was pretty fun. The first day, Friday sucked pretty bad for me b/c I threw up in the middle of Walmart. That is never a good way to start the day. I am talkin about being in Walmart, nevermind the throw up.
Saturday we went out with some running/biking friends that we met there and did the trail that will be the 18 Hours of Fruita race. It was pretty fun, considering that I have only ridden my pink road bike in the past 6 months or so. Also, I was about three miles in to the ride when I found out that my shoe wouldn't come out of the pedal. I found that out the hard way. I also realized I probably shouldn't be riding like a crazy woman on my bike, but no worries, parasite #2 was not injured (that we know anyways).
Sunday Brian took me to this trail that he rode while Rad and I were napping the day before. It is called Mary's Loop and it was magnificent! I came up this huge hill and right there- the Colorado River. Unbelievable! The trail followed the river for a few miles. It was amazing. If you are ever up for a mt bike trip, this is the one to take. Forget Moab. Lame. Go to Fruita. Please not that in one of the pics above, Rad fell asleep in his Kelty backpack. So cute:)
xoxo,
Emily

Truffle Shuffle. Enough Said.

Tonight Konrad wanted some more chocolate cake so we made him dance for it. Please note the chocolate cake on his face. I have never laughed so hard in my life.

Happy "National Puctuation Day".

Hello, folk's. I wanted to wish everyone a very-happy National Punctuation Day. I am thinking that this day, of all days should be celebrated- not only celebrated but revered. I also think that perhaps, it should be combined with National Spelling Day. You know; like Presidents' Day. I think I would throw a party and it would be a costume-party. Everybody would have to dress up like their favorite punctuation mark. Im pretty sure I would dress up like a semi;colon. Or perhaps a dash- or a comma. Those are extremely cool right now. Then I would make punctuation-themed cookies like period's- oh, that is what cookies already look like. After cookies and other yummy punctuation treat's, we would play a game of "Fix the Sentence", where we would have somebody, anybody write the simplest sentence. For example- The foxes hair looks like there's. As we did so, I your hostess would ask "What is wrong with this sentence?" To which I would get blank stare's from my party-goers.
Dont get me wrong- I am not an English major or a journalist (although I could be, am I right, am I right?) I am not really even a grammar/spelling/punctuation snob. I guess my ish is that I simply passed the 8th grade, which includes passing 8th grade English. If I remember correctly, most of that class had to do with memorizing the Getty'sBerg Address and ... Grammar/Punctuation/Spelling. If we all passed the 8th grade, why can't anyone spell or write a cohesive sentence to save they're lives? With all the blogging (thats German) that we "stay at home mom's" do, let's break down those stereo-types and show them how smart and edumacated we are. Actually, let's prove that we do read books, other than "Confession's of a Shopaholic" and "Twilight" and that we do more than watch E New's all day (although I do that too:)
Three Cheer's for National Puntuation Day! And to being edumacated!!
