Adios, Estelle! You will be missed...

It is a sad day at the Kleinman house. Mrs. Estelle Getty has passed away. You may know this gem of an actress from my personal favorite TV show, "The Golden Girls". She played Sophia, Dorothy's mom. I grew up watching TGG, right after Designing Women, starring none other than my second favorite, Delta Burke. Estelle was hilarious! I think that her character on TGG was the funniest character ever, except for maybe Bill on "Freaks and Geeks" (that is going to be a hard one to beat. If you have time, watch Bill on YouTube eating a grilled cheese sandwich while watching Dallas. Make time, you can thank me later:)

Hi, I'm in Iowa

Greetings from Iowa City, the home of the University of Iowa Hawkeyes, where every single mailbox is painted black and yellow and every old fat man wears a black and yellow t shirt with matching hat. I guess the upside is that they match, right?
Actually, Iowa City is a cool city ("city", is how it should be written, but whatev.) Lots of trails and lots of parks, a mall and a Target. What else do you need to pass two weeks? The following pics are of Rad in the swing at the park for the first time. He wasn't too sure at first but when I gave him the go-ahead, he was delighted. If only I could be so thrilled to swing.

Then there was Rad's Half Birthday party. Oh my, that was fun. We gave 'im a cupcake and let him go at it. He didn't understand at first but after I put some chocolate frosting in his mouth he got the idea. He ain't stupid. While he ate his cupcake, we danced to the Beatles Birthday song. The little dude thought that it was so funny to see mommie shakin' it.
