Here is just one picture of what we got to enjoy for two days.
We all made it up, some faster than others, and here we are ready to head home. Two days well spent.
We finally made it to the top about 7 hours after we started.
Here I am with Joe. He did really good until about 4 miles to go. Then we had to divide up his gear and I even hooked him up to my backpack and pulled him up the canyon.
Emily stands in front of some of the switch-backs that rise 1,000 verticle feet per mile, that will get the calfs burning!!!

Climbing out of the canyon was about as easy as pushing this rock off the trail.
The start of the long climb (5,000 verticle feet) back up the canyon wall.
We made camp next to Bright Angle Creek, next to Phantom Ranch. We got some rest and got ready for the long day to come.
Emily in the tunnel that leads to the black bridge that crosses the Colorado river.
Here is Emily before we head into the inner gorge.
We even made some friends.
Here we go down the trail.
We started by hiking down the South Kaibab trail. This is the BEFORE picture.
Here we all are at the beginning of our journey. Rod, Joe, Ben, Emily and I hiked the Grand Canyon on Thursday, April 14th.

This is Emily and I near the finish line. We are trying to convince Emily to race next time.
Third place in my second race, not too bad I guess. I was just happy I didn't wreck or break my bike. I watched one guy go down hard in front of me at about 30 MPH!!! Maybe next time!
Here is the finish of the race. It was a very rocky 10 mile course that had a ton of hills.
Here I am at the start of my second mountain bike race in Payson. There were about 13 guys that I raced in my age group.
